R.M.Glier Kyiv State Higher Music College is the first professional musical educational institution in Ukraine. It was founded in January 18, 1868 attached to the Kyiv Department of the Imperial Musical Association with the purpose to prepare musicians-performers for musical groups and such city organizations as Kyiv Opera, orchestras etc.

The College prepares piano teachers and teachers on different orchestral instruments, singing, theory and history of music, artists of orchestras, musical ensembles, conductors, musicologists, sound producers, editors of mass media, prepares its graduates to scientist activity in a art sphere.

High professionalism of pedagogical collective, its devotion to art, ability and wish to teach talented youth are confirmed by the fact that the College is a base for creation of original, author's teaching programs for musical colleges and musical schools of Ukraine.
